Setting up Discipleship 

[0:00] – Narration 

“Jesus had grown in strength and wisdom. Now 30 years old, it was time for Him to enter into His ministry.” [0:21] – Jesus Starts Journey 

Jesus with Family, says good bye 

[0:38] – Jesus Baptism  

[0:59] – Dove Descends. 

“As Jesus came out of the water, a voice came down from heaven like a dove. ‘This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.’” 

Everyone watching was amazed and wondered “Could this be the one from David, the Messiah?” [1:11] – Jesus Tempted in the wilderness 

“The Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted.” 

[1:23] – Satan 

(Satan) “All the Kingdoms of this world I will give you if you worship me!” 

“But Jesus did not succumb to the temptations.” 

[1:33] – Calling Disciples 

“As Jesus went about His ministry, He called some to follow Him as disciples.” 

[1:45] – Sermon on the Mount 

“Seeing the people begin to follow Him, Jesus went up on a mountain side and taught them how His father’s kingdom  was unlike any rule they had known.” 

[1:56] – Leper 

“As Jesus came down from the mountain, a man with Leprosy approached Him and said ‘Lord, if you are willing, you can  make me clean.’” 


“Jesus, reaching out His hand, said ‘I am willing, be clean.’” 

[2:18] – Teaching Parables 

“Jesus began to teach them in parables saying ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. Though it is the smallest of  all seeds, when it grows, it becomes the largest of trees.’” 


“Though the parables confused the crowds, the Disciples asked Jesus for its meaning” 

(Jesus) “Blessed are you, for your hearts were soft to ask, and that is the seed by which the kingdom will grow.” [2:40] – Paralytic lowered. Pharisees don’t like 

“Just then, some people brought to Jesus a paralytic through the roof of the house.” 

(Jesus) “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 

Pharisees don’t like 

“So that you may know that I have authority on earth to forgive sins, get up, take your mat and go home.” [3:03] – Teaching by getting on the boat and going to other side 

“Because of the massive crowds, Jesus got into a boat to teach them from the shore.” 


“Jesus commanded His disciples to cross over to the other side of the lake to find rest, (pause) but as they arrived, the  people had walked around to the lake to hear more from Jesus.” 

[3:26] – Feeding 5,000 

“Jesus had great compassion for these people and did not send them away, but rather fed them all with just 5 loaves of  bread and 2 fish.” 

Boy hands Jesus food 

[3:40] – Pray and break bread 

Disciples feed everyone, Jesus watches 


“Everyone ate until they were full.” 

“Jesus sent His disciples away back to the other side of the lake while He sent the people home, and then to pray alone.” Disciples get in boat

Jesus prays 

[4:18] – Storm 

[Disciples in big storm 

[4:29] – Jesus walks on water 

“In the middle of a great storm, Jesus walked out to His disciples on the water.” 

[4:40] – Peter walks on water 


“Peter, why did you doubt?” 

[4:52] – Intro to Demoniac 

“There was a man with an impure spirit, living in the tombs, with no one able to bind him.” “When the man saw Jesus at the shore, he ran and fell at Jesus’ feet.” 


[Demon, in a loud voice] “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture  me!” 

[Jesus] “Who are you?” 

[Demoniac] “I am legion, for we are many.” 

[Jesus, in a loud voice] “Be gone!” 

[5:15] – Healing Demoniac 

Demons flee 

Jesus restores man sends him away 

[5:42] – Peter & Jesus  

“Jesus asked His disciples ‘Who do people say that I am?’” 

“Some said ‘Moses’, ‘A prophet’, ‘Elisha!’” 

[Jesus] “But who do you think I am?” 

[Peter] “You are the Christ, the son of God” 

Disciples act shocked/amazed/believing. 


[Jesus] “Blessed are you, Peter, for upon you and your words will I build my church.” 

[Jesus] “But before that happens, I will be betrayed and delivered to death.” 

Disciples confused and about to ask Jesus more questions. 

[6:08] – Messenger: “Lazarus is dead” Jesus teaches 

“While he was teaching, a messenger came to Jesus saying ‘Lazarus, whom you love, is sick and dying.’” See Lazarus in background 

“Jesus taught for 2 more days, then said ‘Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going to wake him up.” See Lazarus die and people crying. 

Disciples follow Jesus and mime walk to Lazarus 

[6:35] – Grieving for Lazarus Mary M. Sad 

Come to a place where everyone is crying. 


“Jesus, if you had been here, my brother would not have died” 


(Jesus) “Martha, I AM the resurrection and the life!”  

Jesus weeps, walks up to tomb  

[7:03] – Raising Lazarus  

“Lazarus, come Out!” 

[7:09] – Lazarus Lives [7:17] – Fin
