MDC: July 3-Aug 1, In PA Details: Conference is in Pennsylvania this year at Boulder Ridge Retreat (402 Adamstown Rd, Reinholds, PA 17569). This trip is primarily for leaders of discipleship ministries, but we do invite members who are thinking about leadership to ask if they can come. Alumni, parents, and anyone who could benefit from talks on discipleship are also encouraged to join! This is also a great opportunity for parents to come to help chaperone and hear from the speakers as well. We are looking for volunteers to help give rides to and from the airport. Cost: The cost is $150 for current members. For anyone else, the price is the flight cost and $40 for the conference fee.

Discipleship Retreat in VA, 2021 (formerly known as Leadership Conference) Dates: August 2-3. We will fly for this trip, either leaving on July 31st or August 1st and returning August 4th. Details: This year hosted by Silent Lights in Christiansburg, VA (silentlights.org). This trip is primarily for leaders, but we do invite members who are thinking about leadership to ask if they can come. Alumni are also welcome to join. This is also a great opportunity for parents to come to help chaperone and hear from the speakers as well. Cost: The biggest cost for us is the flight. The lodging and retreat itself is mostly covered by the team hosting the retreat. If you are currently on the team (or a parent of a current member) the cost is $100 and the team will cover the rest. For Alumni, the cost is whatever the cost of the flight is (about $300) and the conference cost (if any, at most $20). *The Discipleship Retreat location rotates each year, typically through PA, WY, and CA, now adding VA to the rotation. **For those who are interested, here is the mission and vision of Discipleship Retreat. Mission: The mission of Discipleship Retreat is to encourage, refresh, and reignite passion among leaders in discipleship minded ministries. Vision: The vision of Discipleship Retreat is to connect discipleship minded ministries and help them thrive and multiply. Notes: Cost needs to be raised to $150 or more for the future.
Date: August 7th-10th, 2016 11 from CA, 12 from PA, and 7 from WY. 11 males, 13 females, 1 Perry, 1 Tamara Whal, and 4 Amos’. Used 4 cabins-3 girls each; 2 cabins-3 boys each; 1 cabin-Amos family; 3 lodge rooms-2 people each schedule Notes: Things that went well-Everyone enjoyed facilities, food, and talks. Allotted time for food, devotions, talks, and free time were well planned. Everyone was willing to talk openly, build relationships, and get to know one another. Things we can work on-communication between contact and team regarding set up of camp. Longer time for cabin discussion.
